ABOUT the artist
My name is Stacey and I am a Gemological Institute graduate in jewelry manufacturing arts.
I have done some form of crafting since I was 5 years old when my Mother and I would paint and
kiln fire ceramic objects in Lake Arrowhead, California where we lived. At 8 years old, my Mother
and her Aunt taught me to crochet and do all sorts of beadwork. My great-Aunt was one of the most
talented and creative people I have ever known. She taught me many things that helped to further my
passions and while doing professional pearl and bead restringing for a major department store for
20+ years, her teachings helped me greatly. I really enjoyed my time being a student at GIA but as with any
career, you learn the most from doing different jobs in your chosen field. My first professional job in jewelry
was at my Grandfather's watch and jewelry repair shop working for my Aunt and changing (what felt like) a
million watch batteries. I also designed costume jewelry for one of the largest manufacturing companies of
costume jewelry in Los Angeles until I took over the repair shop with my Aunt full time...and did another million
batteries! Now, I am mostly home enjoying my 2 young children while I continue to create my own line of jewelry
and other crafts out of my small studio. I thank you for visiting and hope if you have any questions about my work
you will feel free to contact me. (mail@sacredsilver.com)
